Charles graduated in May of 2018 with an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology (Ed.S.). Charles was raised in Phoenix, Arizona where he attended North High School.

Charles was raised in Phoenix, Arizona where he attended North High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Sports Administration and Management from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Charles identifies the single most beneficial experience he had as a student in the School Psychology program at the University of Arizona Chandler to be the real-world practical skills his professors provided while also educating him on current challenges or issues in current practice.

“Because the majority of faculty members are practicing school psychologists, they were able to teach and model practices that they used daily, while also talking to us about caseloads and various levels of support provided to psychologists within public schools. Upon leaving my program, I felt I was educated on the latest evidence-based practices and research, but I was also equipped with real-world experiences that allowed me to stand out more than other new graduates.”

Now that he has graduated, he is most excited to see the progress his students can make throughout a school year when they are provided the proper support. He also enjoys how the role of a school psychologist is ever-changing and evolving. No two days at work are ever alike, which he hopes will keep his mind fresh and sharp.
