Steve Norman

I chose the University of Arizona Pima East platform for several reasons.
First, the flexibility with work schedules was wonderful. Second, it was the best fit to maximize my transfer credits from previous institutions. Finally, I wanted an environment where I could impact other students and get engaged with as many projects and student groups as I could. I chose to pursue a degree in regional commerce. This was a fairly new program for the Pima East location and I felt it was a good match with all the business courses I had taken prior. The emphasis was on entrepreneurship. I pursued this degree because I want to work for myself and feel the degree and the courses prepared me for that situation very well.
In many of the courses, a formal business plan outline was utilized and made it much easier for me to complete a business plan for my own business after graduation. I am in the beginning stages of securing the capital needed for my business, but the experiences at the Pima East location gave me the experience, wisdom, and knowledge to not only pursue owning my own business but the tools to do so effectively.
